Howdy, Friends

Howdy, Friends, and welcome back!

I’m now starting to emerge from the strange wilderness that the pandemic has been for me.  As those of you who know me are aware, I’m pretty much an old road dog, used to roaming far and wide playing music, taking pictures, swimming and hanging out with friends.  The year and a half lockdown surely changed my life, and like many of you, has made me reevaluate many things.

One thing that hasn’t changed is my desire to write and play music.  In this area, I’ve managed to have a pretty productive time, releasing three original music videos with the help of some very talented friends - ‘Johnny Was Poet’, ‘Firemen’s Ball' and ‘How Long (’Til The End Of The World)’  You can check these out on my Youtube artist channel.

I also made a new album during the lockdown, which will be released on October 1, 2021 by Bluebird Café Berlin Records.  I began recording basic tracks for the album in February 2020 with coproducer Fred Wehr at his studios in Perth, Western Australia.  By the time I got home to LA in March, everything was shut down tight.  So, we got some great players from far and wide to contribute instrument tracks which they recorded in their own studios and then sent to Fred.  He stitched them all together, then sent them to Berlin to be mixed and mastered by René Schostak.  And soon you’ll be able to hear and buy the record at the usual download and streaming services.

If things stay the way they are, I’ll be in Berlin for the month of October to promote the record and do a few solo gigs and even a few with my band Melvin Touché & The Tom Toms.

Let’s hope we get this thing figured out soon so that we can all see each other again in person.  In the mean time, take care of yourselves and get the jab, if you haven’t already.

Wow. Berlin. For us, Paris in December—First trip to Europe since we moved back to the US! So, at least we’re going in the right direction. Congratulations on this!
